We are a registered Charity and therefore we need funding to help grow and develop the group and to provide a balanced programme.
Scouts take part in activities as diverse as kayaking, abseiling, expeditions overseas, photography, climbing and zorbing. As a Scout you can learn survival skills, first aid, computer programming, or even how to fly a plane. There’s something for every young person. It’s a great way to have fun, make friends, get outdoors, express your creativity and experience the wider world.
However, to do all that we require sufficient funds to run camps, purchase equipment, provide badges and so on. Here are just a few items of expenditure (based on 2021-2022) that the group needs to pay.
- Capitation Fees – £2500 (approx. £50 per youth member)
- School Hire – £2500 (since returning in January 2022 our school hire has doubled since pre-covid)
- Equipment Insurance / Storage Fees – £2000
Without the fundraising efforts of the group, we would not be able to function.
